Katrina Vasher
I am a certified massage therapist and structural bodyworker specializing in restoring complicated injuries or chronic pain patterns. In addition to studying a variety of advanced massage modalities, I am a certified Light Therapist and have completed coursework in Orthopedic Massage / Integrated Manual Therapy, British Sports Massage, Reflexology, Thai Massage, Aroma Therapy, Advanced Nutrition, Integrated Health and Wellness, Intrinsic Coaching, Healing Touch, Meditation, and Yoga training. I have maintained certifications in Personal Training, and Holistic Fitness in order to provide clients with self-care support and training tips. I love teaming and collaborating with other health professionals including Physical Therapists, Corrective Exercise Specialists, Physicians, Acupuncturists, Osteopathic Doctors, Naturopaths and Functional Medicine doctors to support my clients.
A student of bodywork for over a decade, I rely on personal experience having found ways to rehabilitate my own body from injuries, surgeries, and trauma as well as recovering from 17 years spent in a high stress corporate occupation. As a body-intuitive I have an ability to sense or “read” in my hands how and where a body is “guarding” or compensating which helps me understand how and where to work on clients and what technologies to apply. I’m fascinated by how the nervous system protects our body from stress and have developed a clear sense of where nerves are being pinched or joints are overloaded or imbalanced. This helps me to resolve complicated pain patterns that can become frustrating to resolve with basic massage, chiropractic or Physical Therapy alone.
I am assisted by a growing toolkit including the FDA cleared BioMat infrared therapy and InLight Medical Photobiomodulation (PBM) Therapy plus the Avazzia neuro-modulating micro-current technology. These devices reduce pain, increase circulation and disarm the nervous system allowing for deeper relaxation and accelerated healing. In some circumstances where home healing is desired, and where it seems appropriate, I also make these technologies available for rental or purchase for those who require additional home care.
My goal is to provide gentle yet effective drug-free ways to reduce pain, stress and inflammation in the body so that my clients can resume their active lifestyles and gain new-found freedom in their bodies.
